8 to stay; 3 must go!

Postby Frappy » Sun Mar 15, 2009 2:48 pm

Hello Cafe,

I'm mulling over my keeper choices for one of my prize leagues. I get to keep 8 players, and with no limit on how long they can stay on the team. This league is a standard 5x5 Roto, with a 1250 inning limit. Last year I placed 3rd (Falling short of the 3-peat championship). Out of my roster, I picked out these 11 guys as possible keepers:

1B - Ryan Howard
2B- Dustin Pedroia
3B- Aramis Ramirez
SS- Jimmy Rollins
OF- Matt Holliday
SP- CC Sabathia
SP- Daisuke Matsuzaka
SP- Yovani Gallardo
SP- David Price
SP- John Danks
RP- Joe Nathan

Currently I have Howard, Rollins, Holliday, Sabathia, and Matsuzaka as locks to be kept. I feel pretty confident that I do not want to keep John Danks, and that I should keep Joe Nathan. I really like Gallardo and Price for their youth and potential (It is an unlimited length keeper league!). I honestly don't like Pedroia as a keeper, but I feel conflicted with the fact that he was the AL MVP and some people have drafted him rather high. Aramis Ramirez is consistent. If anything, The two most likely to not be kept right now are Pedroia and Danks. I do need to drop 3 though..

Thoughts? Suggestions? Advice?

Thanks!

I'm dropping Danks, Pedroia and Nathan. Closers and saves can always be found later in the year on the waiver wire. Pedroia is a good 2nd baseman, but I feel is being overvalued based on where he is being drafted.

I'd drop Denks, Price, and Nathan. I like Price's potential but you have some real solid players you'd be putting back out there, not worth it just off that potential. viewtopic.php?f=26&t=371920
