I might have gone a bit crazy... (WHIR w/ link)

Drafted a new Dynasty Team a while back and I would like a bit of input on it. Its 16 teams, H2H points, and the scoring is pretty standard, though adjusted to make Pitching and Hitting points more equal. Here is what I came out with having selection 8 (with a picks trade made beforehand):

C: Matt Wieters, Round 7 pick 104
1B: James Loney, Round 9 pick 136
2B: Mike Aviles, Round 10 pick 149
3B: Chris Davis, Round 3 pick 40
SS: Troy Tulowitzki, Round 5 pick 72
CF: Matt Kemp, Round 2 pick 25
OF: Justin Upton, Round 8 pick 121
OF: Shin Soo Choo, Round 16 pick 249
UT: Edwin Encarnacion, Round 14 pick 217

BN: Jarrod Saltalamacchia, Round 18 pick 281
BN: Franklin Gutierrez, Round 19 pick 296
BN: Jason Heyward, Round 22 pick 345
BN: Ken Griffey Jr., Round 24 pick 377
BN: Andrew McCutchen, Round 25 pick 392

P: Tim Lincecum, Round 1 pick 12
P: Chad Billingsley, Round 4 pick 57
P: Yovani Gallardo, Round 5 pick 76
P: Clayton Kershaw, Round 11 pick 168
P: Erik Bedard, Round 12 pick 185
P: Matt Lindstrom, Round 13 pick 200

BN: John Maine, Round 15 pick 232
BN: J.J. Putz, Round 17 pick 264
BN: Bronson Arroyo, Round 20 pick 313
BN: Rick Porcello, Round 21 pick 328
BN: Scott Downs Round 23, pick 360

There are 10 allowed starts per week for pitchers. As I'm sure its easy to tell, I fell in love with young players. I'm currently considering dropping someone for Chad Cordero since he now has a good chance at saves and I could definitely use another Reliever so my Pitching slots generate points when there isn't anyone starting.

I'm not familiar with Dynasty leagues, but this looks like a pretty good draft. You might not get to the playoffs this year but in 2 or 3 years your team should be ridiculous. That being said, you did reach a little bit for some players (i.e. Davis, Gallardo, and Loney) instead of going for established stars who are only a couple years older.

In the short term, I would get rid of JJ Putz and Ken Griffey Jr. I'm a Mariners fan and I love those guys, but they're never going to be helpful again in a fantasy league.

From what I see your team looks very solid up and down. I really like the core of your young players

Recently dropped McCutchen for Chad Cordero. I figure it would be better to have a potential closer to put in a pitching slot to generate points when someone isn't starting than to have another outfield prospect where I already have Kemp, Upton, and the monster potential of Heyward.

thanks for the help w/ mine.
the tricky thing about dynasty teams (like pro teams), is you have to decide when you will have the best chance to win it all. i think you're set up for the next couple of years, especially w/ your pitching staff. if desired, i think you could give swing a couple of moves that would put you in contention sooner than later. especially w/ 16 teams 8-o , this shouldn't be so hard without forgoing your next couple of years.
good luck this season (and next, haha!)
