I took Wieters with my first pick in a keeper (10th round) Anyone hear weather he's going to start out in the minors? We're late in the draft and Teagarden is still available. Would like to grab him to fill in if Wieters is starting out on the farm.

The jury is still out, but he is hitting .440 in spring ... I am in the same boat with him. I think worst case he stays down till June, but I keep hearing optimism that they may start him out. Wish I knew more...

He will not be in the majors at the beginning...but he will get there early on.
I have him too.

Not sure why everyone has him pegged to start the season in the minors so Balt. can have the extra 1yr of service. I know in theory it makes sense, and TB did it with Longoria. But, there are lot's of teams who bring guys up to start the year and not worry about the extra year on the backend. If he continues to hit the way he is, I wouldn't be surprised to see him in the majors on opening day.
I put it at 50/50
