In terms of 5x5 Roto, Kemp and Rios had almost identical stat lines and value. So what is it about your league that gave Rios more value last year? The answer to that question might change my mind but Kemp over Rios in a standard league.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

I'm thinking maybe because we have a -1 penalty for strikeouts and Kemp sure did whiff a lot last year. He did cut back on the Ks by almost 50% in the second half of the season, however.
Kemp. I think we've seen the best of Rios, he's yet to consistently put together power and speed. Kemp's game will continue to get better plus Manny is back in their lineup which only makes things better for the Dodgers.
Rios actually regressed last yr, while Kemp is just starting to ramp up.
regressed? maybe he as a let down, but his power went down, his SB's went up... it was just a flip flop. I think people are looking at these two and Kemp is the shiny new toy and Rios is the "been there done that guy", the difference, one you have to take almost a whole round earlier... Also saying we've seen the best of RIOS is kind of crazy, he's 28 this year? Maybe he makes a bigger jump this year that people were expecting last year?
