H2H Keeper Draft: Rd 7 Pk 2...Do I take McCann? WHIR!

Yahoo! 10-team H2H 5x5 Keeper

Our league keeps 5 players each year and then we do a slow draft offline for round 6 before jumping online for the remaining rounds through Yahoo.

My Keepers:
1 - D Wright
2 - G. Sizemore
3 - C. Utley
4 - A. Soriano
5 - P. Fielder

My 6th Round pick: S. Victorino (I had the 9th pick in the round).

We start our online draft on Monday night w/round 7 and I pick 2nd. So far, no catchers have been selected. I usually wait until well into the teens to look at taking a catcher. That was my plan this year as well. However, that was before I realized all the catchers would be there for my pick in the 7th round. I'm still leaning against picking a catcher, but haven't completely made up my mind. I was planning on taking my first SP.

Should I grab a C? Why? If yes...which one?

Thanks. Leave a link and I'll reply.

Yeah, with these "Which position do I take" questions, it depends on who's there. McCann in the 7th round doens't seem too bad though. Just pick the best available player.

Any good SS available?

I wouldn't have selected Victorino if a guy like Stephen Drew Rollins or Tulo was available. Warning.

If Mac is there, I'd probably gobble him up. What SP are available?

Sorry for the lack of details.

Here are the SP who HAVE been taken:
J. Santana
T. Lincecum
C. Sabathia
B. Webb
C. Hamels
R. Halladay
J. Peavy
D. Haren
F. Liriano

Available: E. Santana, J. Lackey, J. Shields, C. Billingsley, F. Hernandez, R. Oswalt, J. Beckett

SS's that have been taken:
H. Ramirez
J. Reyes
J. Rollins
R. Furcal
Al. Ramirez
D. Jeter

Didn't need to take a SS in the 6th because only one team drafts before my pick in the 7th and he has J. Reyes. Tempted to take Drew or Tulo in the 7th, but I may hold off because neither of them are sure-things. If I miss them, I can always fall back on Peralta and/or Hardy in the 10th/11th without a HUGE drop-off.

Drew is a sure thing IMO. Hardy is also. He's been pretty consistant. I'd be happy if you pass up drew and get Hardy since he's available. He's on that tier 2 of SS in the top 10 and will put up solid numbers for you. Let's see if Mac is available I'd snatch him up now. Lackey or Bills would also be a good target as well.

Billingsley or McCann. Drew and Hardy aren't with those 2.

I'd pick McCann, but going with Billingsley is a good option as well if you can pick up a nice catcher like Iannetta or Doumit a couple of rounds later.
