certainly changes as far as taking a pitcher for me.

if i am the last pick i would try to get a pitcher on my 4th round pick(it would take too long to get back to you in the 5th round). if i was in the middle or towards the beginning i would try to wait until the 5th.

For me, I fight the urges to draft a hitter and pitcher each time round: it's not a pair of picks; they are two separate choices.

I leap to start the closer run, too, for fear that I don't leave with my one stud if the run misses me.... Later in the draft, I might do that to take the last 2nd tier guys (like taking Soria & Wilson when they're the last 2 guys, closing the door on everyone else).

That's what changes for me more than anything.....I watch tiers more on the ends and try to anticipate runs. As long as I don't overpay or overthink things, I do prefer the ends. In a mock draft though, I took Aramis at 24 and Santana at 25: that was terrible. I panicked when A-Rod, Cabrera, Wright, and Longoria went, thinking that Aramis would never be there in the 5th, and I'd lost all of my other targetted hitters there. I might have done well on the selections, but the reasoning was terrible.

Spend the time making contigency plans and plotting out 8 guys if the draft is 6 away from you. Don't just take a bathroom break.
