Fred Lewis batting 3rd this year for SF?

In every ST game he's started (most of them) he's batted 3rd every time. To me with him batting 3rd for SF, it's got to increase his RBI totals..Late sleeper, going undrafted in some leagues

I drafted him late in my 5 OF league...I really needed some steals and didn't want to kill my other categories, so he seemed like a good choice. To be honest I'm not sure where he'll end up in the seems like he and Winn should bat 1st and 2nd to me, in whatever order produces more. I don't see him currently having the necessary power to bat 3rd, but if Renteria finds his old form it may be wise to plug Edgar at the top of the order instead. I'm not sure if that would push Lewis into the 3-hole though...more likely 6th.

I would think Sandoval, Molina, or possibly Ishikawa (depending on his performance) would bat 3rd...but you never know. They have so little power on that team Lewis could end up there I suppose.

Huh...I'm not sure I know what I'm talking about. Any other thoughts? :-b

I really like Lewis late in drafts...very nice sleeper with decent potential.

Now I'm no fancy pants hitting coach, but I think he needs a change in approach.
He hits so many groundballs that he needs to focus on contact and steals, not power.
With a 37% hitting percentage for '08, without this change his batting average could be very low in '09. :-°
