I'm locked down to one of these 4....
Jarrod Parker
Derek Holland
David Huff
Josua Fields
Leaning more towards 1 of the top 3... who would you take?
Thanks

Its a crap shoot with pitchers especially young ones, but the consensus of that group says Parker.

Yea, we've got them for 3 years before we lose/have to activate... so hopefully whomever I take starts to develop in that time.
any other thoughts?

I have both Derek Holland and his fellow Texas pitcher Neftali Feliz on my team. I am targeting Parker in the next round of my slow, very slow rookie draft. I have read that Holland might come up as early as the middle of this season (ahead of Feliz), and Parker not until late 2010, if not 2011. I would go with Holland if it were my pick.

If you want a rookie who is more likely to contribute this year, I would go with either Huff or Fields. Huff is very close to possibly being in the Tribe's rotation, I expect him to get there sometime this year. Fields could be in the very crowded (and clouded) Mariners bullpen. It depends more on if you are in more need of a rookie starter or reliever.

David Huff is a better prospect than Holland, and will be in a slightly better situation in Cleveland than the launch pad at Arlington. The Indians are looking at guys like Carl Pavano for the rotation, so it won't be long at all. Parker is a good long range pick, but he may not produce much in the next 3 years.
I'd pick Huff.
