14 team 17 man keeper on Yahoo. Now this is a litte tough as I just traded for Longoria from the team that offered me this deal. Which was - my Utley/Rollins/N Cruz/R Ludwick/B Webb for his Pedroia/Longoria/Kemp/Stephen Drew/Beckett (guess he wants Longoria back) just not sure if it is the right move

Recieve - Geovany Soto/Tim Lincecum

Giving - Joe Mauer/Evan Longoria/B.J. Ryan

Roster:
C - J. Mauer
1B - A. Gonzalez
2B - D. Pedroia
3B - E. Longoria
SS - S. Drew
OF - C. Lee/V. Wells/M. Kemp
Util - M. Aviles/X. Nady
BN - C. Dickerson/S. Rolen

SP - R. Halladay/J. Beckett/D. Purcey/J. Schmidt
RP - B.J. Ryan/B. Ziegler/T. Percival/S. Downs

I think i would reject.

Right now you have a pretty balanced roster...if you trade Longoria you will leave a gaping hole at 3B, with only Rolen to fill it. :-t

It would also weaken your RP a lot as Ryan is really the only one with a stable job.

In return Soto is pretty similar to Mauer (although his back injury is a concern), which makes it really Longoria and Ryan for Lincecum, and while I like Lincs a lot, your SP is not really that much of a weakness, although you have very little depth, compared with the downgrades at 3B and RP outlined above.

Surely there is a better 4th pitcher than Schmidt available btw?

For me to even cosider this trade it would have to be Soto and Lincecum for Mauer and Longoria. You shouldn't have to have Ryan as part of the deal.
Now that would be something to ponder. Probably the other team wouldn't go for it .

I would reject...I like Soto better than Mauer especially given the injury but giving up Ryan hurts and like previous poster pointed out losing Longoria leaves a big hole...the SP is pretty shallow but Homer Bailey is somebody to watch if he can finally get his act together
