Keeper Question - Kinsler or Teixiera

Postby gingko » Fri Mar 13, 2009 11:54 am

Points league, standard settings, last years roster was:

Mike Aviles, Wes Bankston, Milton Bradley, Vladimir Guerrero, Ian Kinsler, Nick Markakis, Joe Mauer, David Murphy, José Reyes, Mark Saccomanno, Mark Teixeira, Vernon Wells, Ryan Zimmerman, Jonathan Broxton, Zack Greinke, Jason Jennings, Mariano Rivera, James Shields, Kip Wells, Chris Young

Normal positions and 1 utility. 2 keepers.

Reyes is the obvious first keeper. My question is who do I go with at the second spot. Kinsler or Teixeira.

(extra credit for anyone who figures out the college I went to based on the roster)

Not UT.

Any of those other guys worth a look? Or are the three I mentioned, the 3 to choose from? A lot of Mocks have had Tex move up recently.

I would base my decision on if you think everyone else is keeping 1B if so then i would keep tex i think he is better than kinsler but if you think there will be 5 or 6 of the top 1B left i would take kinsler and draft 1B

obviously Reyes, and Kinsler simple position scarcity and you have i think #1 but at least the one of the top 2 or 3 2B in the league that way...

Not sure on the college, but I would go with Reyes and Kinsler.

Baylor is correct. Thats why I picked up Wells, Saccommano and Jennings at the end of the year.

Should I worry about Kinslers durability?

That is very very tough. Tex is a first rounder in a lot of mocks I've seen. I'd keep him.
You can get a Philips or something like with your first pick unless something crazy falls down. I'd also concentrate on a stud 3b and OF with your first 3 picks.
The best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be!
