I got the 2nd pick in my draft. Im pretty sure the guy ahead of me is going to take Hanley or Wright. That leaves me with either of those guys, Pujols or Reyes for my pick.
If hanley comes to me, im taking him. But if not i cant pick between reyes, pujols and wright ( in that order).
Reyes is at a weak position at SS, and gets HUGE points. Pulling a hammy could ruin the season..... Wright gets HUGE points, very consistent, howeever, 3rd is pretty deep and I could get decent performance out of a later round pick in Atkins, Zimmerman, etc. Pujols. Amazing. But use the number 2 pick on a position that is the deepest in the league?
In a hth league, go with Pujols. He never slumps, unlike Reyes and Wright (trust me, I'm a Mets fan, I know...). His numbers are ridiculous, even when he's injured! Even though it is one of the deepest positions, he's just that much better than almost anyone else on a baseball field, in my book. And I love Reyes, and think he's gonna hit 25 HR one of these years. But Pujols is Pujols.
Im a huge met fan, and i know the ups and downs of wright and reyes, pujols doesnt seem to have those at all. I dunno its a tough call. Position scarcity is an issue though.....

You decision should be between Pujois and Wright. Even with the position scarcity at 3rd base, Pujois is just better than the rest. I would take Albert.
but SS is scarce position and 1st base is deeper so it may be a good idea to lock up SS and draft based on positional depth.
But i love pujols!!!!!!! Would never regret taking him but be sure to draft hard and early on teir two MI's - uggla, cano, if after the 3 rd round utley, if he falls to 2nd round.

Thanks for the help... im still torn between reyes and pujols. I cant miss with either one. I just want to maximize my pick here.
if i go for reyes, whom is projected to get 882pts in my league, i would have to settle on a tulowitzki or someone later on whom is projected for 690pts. Nearly 200pts difference. Thats big over the course of 22 H2H weeks.
If i go for Pujols, whom is projected for 865pts in my league, i could knab perhaps a Morneau or Berkman on the turn around to me at pick 23. They are both slated to get 790 and 779 pts respectively. Less then a 100pt difference.
As you can see there is a lesser difference in waiting on a 1st baseman then a SS. I could capitalize my pick by taking one of the premiere players at a scarce position and pretty much go into each weekly matchup with an advantage out of the gate.
What do u think now? Keep in mind, my league is 14 teams
