This is the first year of a Dynasty Salary Cap league. I gave up a ton to get the 1st overall and had the 5th. I could not pass up the chance to grab 2 of the top 5. Should I grab a hitter and pitcher since I will not be drafting again for a while? I am thinking Hanley & Longoria? Wright? Sizemore? Braun? Lincecum? Price? Cabrera? Utley? Kinsler?
How would you draft it?
Thanks for any help in advance.

just grab the best available and target a SP on the way back. you'll get hanley #1 and probably mcab or sizemore (im guessing pujols 2, wright 3, reyes 4), which makes me
I would also take the two best hitters I could at 1 and 5.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
1) you draft Pujols first and hope to the stars that reyes falls to you at 5 (don't you wish A-rod was still kicking around?). I would say the chances of him falling to you are less than him not... if he didn't, then I feel you'd be obliged to pick Sizemore (5-tool stud).
or
2) Take Hanley, and then the best available power hitter. I would rank them: pujols, wright, cabrera, braun, sizemore.
if you knew reyes would fall to you... #1 would be the best case scenario... but you really can't go wrong with the safety/security of #2. Personally, I would choose the latter.
ABOVE ALL ELSE... DO NOT CONSIDER A PITCHER IN THE TOP FIVE PICKS!!!
