First off, as a casualty of the recent explosion of layoffs and unemployment, I really don't have the money to spend on a luxury item such as stattracker. You say $10 isn't a lot of money, but that's probably because you get $20 in allowance a week from your mommy and daddy. As an adult w/ one fixed income at the moment, I'm trying to decide between heating my house, or checking out live scoring on Yahoo (which is free on other sites) - that's no decision at all. Second, only an idiot would pay for something that is free somewhere else.

bigh0rt wrote:Or you could see that if you are up by 2 Runs and are outscored by 3 Runs on Saturday that you are currently down 1 Run heading into Sunday, which shouldn't really be some rocket science calculation.

You missed the point. The calculation itself is not difficult. The difficult, or time consuming part, is clicking on each player, and checking the box score of each game, then noting the stats for each one of you players. Adding up the stats to determine you weekly total through Saturday, so that you can make an informed decision about who to start on Sunday. ESPN free living scoring gives you all this information at your teams main page, therefore, you don't have to waste time checking out the box score of each game.

I guess I should just post, "Thank yahoo for slightly improving an already existing feature! This alone has convinced me to stop using ESPN and use Yahoo alone! Great job." Yahoo pats itself on the back.

Is there a reason why this must be done on Saturday night?

I would assume most people would wish to know where their team stood before Sunday. Say you were up by much in RBI, HR, but down by 2 in SB. If you had an open roster spot, you could pick up a second SB specialty guy in hopes of getting enough SB's out of Willy + the new FA pick up. Simple logic IMO.

I'm convinced that you never used Stattracker in your life.

Confused by this comment... why?

all I have to say to this is wow 8-o

I'm an adult on a fixed income and I'd choose yahoo stat-tracker over heating my house any day of the week :-b :-b :-b :-b

Sorry to hear about your loss of unemployment. A lot of people are going through it and I know how tough it must be.

However, I hope you realize that time = money. When you spend several hours a day watching baseball and playing fantasy baseball, $10 for 6 months of Stattracker is nothing. I've played on other sites and there is really nothing that compares to it.

If you're spending time on these boards, calling people names, and complaining about a free fantasy feature and how that free service decides to spends its resources, and whether or not your opinion coincides with the opinions of a majority of users... and you're even _considering_ how you're going to heat your house, my guess is that your time would be better spent working on a secondary source of income. In fact, it sounds a bit like you are still wishing you _were_ living with mommy and daddy. My own 47 years of experience tells me there are almost always openings for paper routes and pizza delivery.

Nope, you don't need to post a thing... Yahoo didn't post anything here about it, so I missed the Yahoo self back-patting you referenced.

If you simply want Yahoo to improve their stuff, then make suggestions about Yahoo can improve their service, and keep doing so (politely) at any opportunity. It's been known to produce results in the past, but this tirade is probably not going to make you or your suggestions very popular.

Not sure where else to put this. Has anyone else had this problem? It's been this way when I go to the League Homepage since we got set up. I thought it'd rectify itself, but obviously hasn't yet.

Stop using precious time that you could be using to try and find a job to play fantasy baseball.

Obviously. Like you even had to ask ;-D

Also thanks for the idiom link. I've never heard that one before so now I've learned something and can go to bed. Or just spend more time on fantasy baseball instead of finding another source of income :-b
