Thoughts on 3 players.

I'm in a keeper/contract league and need to decide how many years to give the following players. Do you see them contributing this year...and/or years to come?

Thank you.

Ryan Spilsborough WILL LEAD OFF
Nelson Cruz WILL BAT 4TH
Kahil Greene WILL IMPROVE OUT OF PETCO
Skip Shumaker
WILL PLAY 2B

I wouldn't go over a year, except maybe chance Cruz 2 years.

Spilborghs is a sleeper of mine. Should be leading off and has 15/15/.300 potential. I'd only throw him a short contract though as the Rockies have a lot of depth in the OF with mainly young guys. If he struggles or even if he doesn't one of the young guys (Fowler, Gonzalez, Stewart) could affect his PT.

Cruz is an up and coming OF. He should be good for this year and down the road. He has good power and some speed to boot. 25/15 might not be out of the question. 3 yr contract.

Greene has nice power for a SS and leaving PetCo definitely helps. With his good comes the fact that he's an avg drain. He's not a guy that I'd say has great upside though. Short contract, 1 maybe 2.

Schumaker to me is a Polanco clone. He could become the Cards' starting 2b this year. Not much upside here but a useful guy. Short contract, 1-2 yrs.

Thank you very much. They won't be my starters but you have to have chumps like this just in case.
