Tiered rankings to go off of is a must. On my spreadsheet I keep relatively recent MDP data on each player, so I have a decent idea who's being taken where. I've found draft tracker software to be helpful as well, especially one that projects team stats.
Usually I can keep track of where I am as opposed to other teams, but it's a quick way to check if I'm say projected to be last in steals on the year.
...Boston papers now and then suffer a sharp flurry of arithmetic on this score; indeed, for Williams to have distributed all his hits so they did nobody else any good would constitute a feat of placement unparalleled in the annals of selfishness. -Updike
In my draft I know that certain players base their picks off of Yahoo and some base their picks off of ESPN. I bring their listings, and ADP list (which I use as my pseudo official list where I keep track of who's gone and who's available) and a keep a tiered ranking (from the gentlemen who supplied it here in the forum). And of course a pen.
And of course, Beer & Grilled Wings.
