Im in the 2nd year of a 3 year keep and im being offered Longoria and the option of another player for my AROD
Longoria + (Bruce,Votto, or Milledge) which one
Its risky either way im super undecided My team: C:Mauer 1b:Tex 2b:Avilles 3b:Gordon, (Arod) ss:Jeter CF: Victorino LF:Carlos Lee RF:Ethier OF:Bay UTIL:Ortiz Bench:N.Cruz,C.Gomez,Weeks,O.Cabera
I would pass. Maybe if I was more concerned about Arod's long term health but I'm not.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

Agreed. It feels like trading A-Rod for the sake of trading A-Rod (or a panic move). Regardless of who the 2nd player is in the deal, I don't see them cracking your lineup. Your startering position players are good enough that quality is more important than quantity. You can survive a month without A-Rod.
I think I am not totally clear on the rules of your keeper, but Longoria and Bruce is a decent offer if you are still scared about A-Rod.
I think the selling frenzy on A-Rod has cooled off a bit. The latest seems to be that he will be back at some point in May and has a 85-90% chance of finishing the season fine and then have the surgery and comeback 100% next year. Especially in a keeper I would feel confident not trading A-Rod for anything but close to top dollar again.
What's the point of building for a future that will never come? You'd be the Vancouver Grizzlies of fantasy baseball. With this rule, Johnny Damon's nearly Jay Bruce.
I'd make trades for older folks to see who's forgotten that wrinkle. What do you care that Derek Lowe is 70?
