A bit unrelated, but I always chuckle about the time Glenallen Hill suffered injuries when he freaked out after having a nightmare about spiders. :-b

this has got to be the funniest thread ever. I had not heard most of these. if anyone else has any others, keep this thing going. I can't stop cracking up about the interscrotal hematoma! (not that that's funny or anything...)

Well, putting something about Bedard, which I think some people were looking:

Mar 21 LHP Erik Bedard still is on schedule to make the starting rotation, but he's missed enough time because of a sore right gluteus maximus, that it will be close, manager Don Wakamatsu said. "Everything seems to be good with him," the manager said. "(But) he's got three more starts here, and that's going to be close."

ok... here we go.....

Cardinals speedster Vince Coleman missed the 1985 World Series after he was run over by the automatic tarp machine.

Brewers pitcher Steve Sparks dislocated his shoulder trying to tear a *telephone book* in half as part of a motivational speech.

Braves pitcher John Smoltz burned his chest trying to steam iron a shirt HE WAS WEARING AT THE TIME

Catcher-DH Mickey Tettleton once got an infected foot from tying his shoelaces too tight.

Rick Honeycutt suffered a large scratch across the forehead when he, after being ejected for scuffing the ball with a tack taped to his finger, wiped his brow in frustration

Twins infielder Denny Hocking missed the 2002 AL Championship Series against Anaheim after

injuring the middle finger on his throwing hand during a postgame celebration following Minnesota's Division Series victory over Oakland

The Twins Marty Cordova once had to "limit his playing time in day games," because he fell asleep in a tanning bed.

ahhh... thats fun..
