Seems like there's not much interest in the O's. Here's an update anyway:
Jerry Hairston has solidified his hold on the leadoff job, batting .357 in 5 spring games, with 1 hr and a sb, as well as 3 rbis. He would be a decent staarting 2B in deep leagues and could be worth drafting late as a backup 2B in shallower leagues.
Hargrove is close to setting the batting order. He has decided to drop Batista to the 6 spot, where he is a much better hitter. Last season, Batista hit .225 in 383 at-bats in the cleanup position compared with .286 in 112 at-bats at No. 6. The projected lineup is this:
Cordova or Surhoff
Batting fifth this year, Gibbons could be in for a career season. He is 26, entering his prime, and appears to be fully healed from his wrist surgery. Also, his position flexibility(OF, 1B) give him nice value in deeper leagues.
That's all for now, I'll post an update soon about the pitchers.
