5th keeper - Furcal/Oswalt

Postby BALCO All-Stars » Wed Mar 11, 2009 9:58 am

14 team, 5x5 roto, C/1B/2B/3B/SS/OF/OF/OF/U/SP/SP/RP/RP/P/P/P/5 BN/2 DL

Other keepers: Ryan Howard, BJ Upton, Carlos Lee, and Curtis Granderson

My last choice is between Furcal and Oswalt. I'm really high on the Dodgers offense this year with a full season of Manny and the Dodgers landing Orlando Hudson (Furcal, Hudson, Ethier, Manny, Kemp, Martin...nice lineup). So I feel Furcal's ceiling is higher then Oswalt (IF HEALTHY, Furcal should go: .290/15/100/30 SB) which would be a lock for a stud SS, but he could also get hurt again...so if I freeze Furcal I'll have to make sure that I get another solid SS somewhere in the draft.

Oswalt or Furcal ????

Thanks

I remember hearing Joe Torre saying that he would sit Furcal once a week or so to limit his games and prevent injury (hopefully). I honestly like other similar valued SS's more than Furcal but I think he would fit nicely into what you have here.

Really? If that's true, then it makes my decision a bit easier because I keep on hemming and hawing between Oswalt and Furcal. It's currently Oswalt, but I have until Sunday to change my mind.

So far: Oswalt 2, Furcal 1...anyone else?

Honestly, I'm really not much of a fan of either of them.

But of those two, I'd definitely go with Oswalt.
Sometimes it takes a crazy person to see the truth. If so, I'm a freaking lunatic.
