Postby Padres Fan » Wed Mar 11, 2009 12:32 am

I am in a Yahoo 12 team roto league

C=Chris Ianetta
1B=Ryan Howard
2B=Richie Weeks
3B=Alex Gordon
SS=Stepen Drew
OF=Corey Hart
OF=Vladimir Guerrrero
OF=Chris Young
UTIL=Jason Giambi
BN=Pablo Sandoval
BN=Felipe Lopez
BN=Adam Lind
BN=Brad Hawpe

SP=Johan Santana
SP=John Lackey
RP=Joe Nathan
RP=Joey Devine
P=Jon Lester
P=Gavin Floyd
P=Heath Bell
BN=Chris Volstad

Another fantasy owner waived Hideki Matsui,Max Scherzer, AJ Pierzynski, Chris Young (P), Nelson Cruz, Paul Konerko, Billy Butler, Elijah Dukes, and Ben Sheets

I am #1 on waivers

I waived Jason Giambi for Hideki Matsui, Felipe Lopez for Max Scherzer and Chris Volstad for Chris Young (Padres)

I was wondering about dropping Brad Hawpe for Nelson Cruz, would that e ewise?

I like Hawpe much more than Cruz, although he is typically a slow starter. I might grab Konerko in lieu of Sandoval.

Sandoval is my insurance for Gordon and Ianetta since he qualifies at c/1b/3b in yahoo leagues

I like Cruz myself. Hawpe could sit versus lefties.

I would replace Floyd 1st chance i got.

If all my waivers go through I am dropping Floyd for Clint Barmes since he is starting at 2b in Colorado and he will have 2b,3b,ss eligibility and would be a good bench player.

I also am much more of a Hawpe fan instead of a Cruz fan. Although Hawpe may start off slow, he finds his form and is useful. For me, Cruz is on and off, and inconsistent, and i don't think his numbers will be great. Hope this helped!

Tough call. I like both players but think Hawpe is the safer bet. Both could hit 30 homers, but Hawpe wouldn't have to completely break out to do it.
