Trade involving Longoria and Kinsler. WHIR!!!

Postby bradowatson » Tue Mar 10, 2009 7:18 pm

My team is stacked, but I have some extra weight and some holes to fill. I regrettably listened to some of you on this board and kept Carlos Quentin as my 10th keeper over Francisco Liriano. I know it was the right decision, but now I have Quentin sitting on the bench and could use Liriano on my staff. Not to mention the fact that the height of my man crush for Liriano reaches the tops of Mt. Everest. So anyway, Liriano went #1 overall in our draft, and the guy that drafted him wants Longoria. I have David Wright as my starting 3B and Longoria as a UTIL or bench player. I think I could pull of something like Longoria and Josh Johnson for Kinsler and Liriano. He really wants Longoria, I really want Liriano, and Kinsler would be a huge upgrade over Polanco at 2B. Help me out and I will certainly return the favor. Roster is below...

C: Jorge Posada
1B: Albert Pujols
2B: Placido Polanco
3B: David Wright
SS: Christian Guzman

really really good looking team you have right there

if the other owner will go for that deal, then i would do it as it really helps you out where you need it

if it were offered to me though, and i had kinsler/liriano, i probably need a little something extra to push it over the top, or someone a bit better than johnson

I agree with what he said. Offer the trade and hope that he will accept it. I would probably need someone a little better than Johnson though.

I'd say Kinsler and Longoria aren't that far apart from each other in value, and if you could get Liriano while keeping CC, Johan and your other guns, that would make that stacked team look scrumptious.

I couldn't get the trade I was hoping for...The current offer is Longoria for Kinsler. It is so hard to trade away the next David Wright (Longoria)... Is Kinsler worth it? Help me and I'll certainly help you...

I still prefer Longoria ... kinsler seems a bit injury prone...

I personally would not trade Longoria for Kinsler. Longoria is going to be a monster in the future and this is a keeper league. Since you could not swing the deal for your mancrush on Liriano, I would walk away.

You can always use Quentin or someone else for an upgrade at 2B if needed in the future.

Thanks for the help with mine.

Being a keeper league, have you thought of shopping the aging Gurerro/Beltran/Soriano while you can still get some good value in return? You can look at moving one for an elite upgrade at 2B while sliding Quentin into the vacant slot. Just my $0.02 worth. :-D

if you can pull that longo/johnson for kinsler/liriano deal i say do it...

longo is super hyped, and you're getting two studs back.... plus you have wright.

kinsler stays healthy NO WAY CAN LONGO outperform him, well he can, but its not as likely!

help with mine.... viewtopic.php?t=371888
