Last three keepers in

Postby las_vegas_keith » Tue Mar 10, 2009 2:20 pm

I am in a 13-team standard 5X5 mixed roto league. We can keep 9 players and their salaries come off the $260 we start with for the auction. We start 9 pitchers and 14 hitters -- C,C,1B, 2B, 3B, SS, CI, MI, 5 OF and UTIL and two bench.

I have a list of six players that I am going to keep and need to pick three more from the second list. Please take a look and let me know who you would keep as you final three and if there are any that I have listed as keepers you wouldn't want to keep.

Keeping:

C: Bengie Molina $6
1B: Prince Fielder $10
SS: J.J. Hardy $10
SS: Hanley Ramirez $10
OF: Carlos Gomez $1
P: Brian Fuentes $10

Possible keepers

OF: Rick Ankiel $9
OF: Brad Hawpe $15
OF: Adam Jones $10
OF: Alfonso Soriano $36
1B: Carlos Delgado $10
P: George Sherrill $12
1B: David Ortiz $30

jones, hawpe, delgado

soriano and papi are just too expensive to keep at those prices for me

jones is a great value for 10 i think
hawpe isnt bad for 15 (rick was a consideration, but not sure how much i like him this year)
delgado for 10 is a bit pricy, but for me it was a best of the rest situation (as i dont trust sherrill to keep the job all year with ray back)

Jones and Delgado are easy picks. I'll still go with Hawpe even at $15 over Ankiel. Power-wise, I think they'll wind up the same, but Hawpe should hit for a better average (Ankiel is more like the .250-260 type with hopes for a .270 average).

OF: Rick Ankiel $9

OF: Adam Jones $10

No real deals here, but all fair priced.

Jones,
Delgado,
Ankiel

Cheap, Cheap, Cheap... save your money. I think hawpe is overpriced especially if his L/R splits keep stinking so badly...he might end up being platooned again.
