Bay & Rios for Kemp, Snider?

Postby Mattingly Is God » Tue Mar 10, 2009 5:42 am

In a dynasty, thinking of trading Jason Bay & Alex Rios for Matt Kemp & Travis Snider.

-other OF's I have: Carlos Quentin & Nick Markakis

-LOVE Kemp's potential

-I think Snider can eventually be a 25 homer guy, maybe 2 years from now (not concerned about AVG....long story)

-Worried Bay may regress to '07 form

-Not convinced Rios can sustain consistent HR power

-I basically want Kemp. If he can be a 25 hr guy with 100 rbi, I
would love that potential, plus he's younger than Bay

Am I nuts?

I think your nuts. You have 4 proven high end outfielders, and your going to trade 2 of them for kemp who has a higher potential & an unproven guy with no guarantee of a full time job. Stand pat.

Win now! Stay put.

You need much more for what you are throwing out there.

If you have a chance to win now, don't do this trade.

If, on the other hand, you have no chance to win now, see what else is available. You can get more, but, in three to four years, I agree with you. Kemp and Snider will be the better half of the deal.

But, if the other team needs to win now, you can get more.

Your giving up way too much for Kemp. Take Snider out of the equation, and see what you can do with an offer of Bay and ? for Kemp. keep in mind that you shouldn't be dealing anyone to valuable- on paper Bay and Kemp are pretty close in value, with sokme people possibly rating Bay higher.

Help me?
