Billingsley or Jurrjens or Ubaldo ?

Postby Skippyoz » Mon Mar 09, 2009 9:46 pm

Who is more valuable (to keep):

Billingsley in the 9th round
Ubaldo in the 24th round
or Jurrjens in the 28th round

I can pick two of the above.

32 players per team, 13 teams, each team starts 7 SP per week.

Personally, I like Billingsley, even though its a 9th round pick. I think he's far and away the best of the 3.

Well it depends on your scoring, quite a bit... Jurrjens in the 28th round is a great value, but he has a high WHIP and doesn't strike out many. That's why your scoring format is important.

That said, probably Ubaldo and Billingsley. But again, Jurrgens in the 28th is a great value. I know in my leauge though, where we count BB/9, H/9, K/9 and SLG% I wouldn't consider Jurrjens over the other two - that's my reasoning. So again, depends on your scoring.

oh, I forgot the second choice. I'd go with Jiminez as the #2 choice.

Thanks for the feedback.

We count W, L, K, ERA, WHIP... and SAVES.

I think Ubaldo wins over Jurrjens... both are 'late round' keeper eligible and I think Ubaldo will be a much better player, fantasy wise, than Jair.

I know Billingsley is going to be better than Jair... but is he going to produce almost 20 rounds worth of value? That is huge! In the 28th round, we're picking the 360th best player or so... I know Jair is going to be better than that... right? I can keep Billingsley at the 9th round... but would I only have to spend a 6th... 7th round pick on him?

And, I'm thinking that if Chad is a BUST for whatever reason, thats a big pick to waste... whereas if Jair busts this year... thats no big deal because it cost me practically nothing.

I have until Sunday to decide... :-o
