Normally i wouldnt bump a player thread every time theres a HR, but davis/jones always seem to be on the first page anyway so... Andruw HR to dead center. Off hendrickson though, heh.
im not touchin this guy with a 10 foot stick but i figured 40hr power doesnt just disappear from a guy who was in the mlb in his teens and was still in his mid 20s. unless of course juice was involved but i dont believe Andruw was mentioned anywhere thus far. As i said, i doubt ill go after him bc of his hurrendous BA but he could have a very legit shot of returning to 30hr power.

There's a big part of me that just thinks Andruw is going to have a nice little season in Arlington. As I said when he originally signed there (and a lot of others did, too) it was really the ideal place for him to land, and thus far he's made the very best of it. Even if he's not playing full-time, I think he's going to be a guy worth having, especially since he was grabbed from the WW even in some of the deepest leagues, in most leagues.
He's motivated too. He knows this was probably close to his last chance and Texas just took a shot on him to "catch lightning in a bottle." Andruw had to work to make the team and has to work now to get PT. He wasn't just handed a boat load of money and a starting gig. He seemed to have lost a little fire the last couple of years and now has seemed to got that back. As far as juice goes, I suppose it is possible as everyone should be a suspect now, but, it's not like he was suffering the typical "roid injuries." I think it was something more mechanical with his swing combined with that lost fire. Now both seem to be fixed thanks to the aforementioned Texas hitting coach. Only time will tell but he is playing very well right now.
As a Braves fan who grew up watching Andruw I'm very glad to see him hitting a again. I just hope he can keep it up enough to be a full time player next year.
