Andruw Jones went 2-for-5 and homered off the Giants' Matt Cain on Monday.
A homer off a quality right-hander will have to improve Jones' chances of making the Rangers. He's hitting .288/.327/.500 with two homers in 52 at-bats. It's still a very mediocre line for an Arizona player, but it represents steady improvement.

He was 2/2 with a double and homerun today.
He has made the rangers roster, though as the 5th outfielder and perhaps righty DH. Not enough playing time to take him at the end of a draft imo unless someone gets traded in the next couple days.

just scrolled across on the bottom of the screen on the MLB netword (diamondbacks/brewers game) that the Rangers optioned Catalanotto to make room for Andruw Jones... hmmm so what does this mean now?... as the rangers are still obligated to pay Catalanotto's $4 mill + $2 mill for i believe an option for 2010... interesting...

Great thanks to soto for the sweet sig!...

Now we've got a real sighting...
First start of the year he was 3 for 5 with a double... second start he is 2 for 3 with a homerun and a walk.... his first 10 PAs in Texas are better than any group of 10 he had in LA.

Byrd was legitimately a good player the last 2 years and is doing well to start this year, he deserves playing time. Murphy's PT could be toast though.

thoughts on his playing time?
he's in a good lineup and in a good hitters park. looking like i may have to take a flier.

He's an average player at best, why you keep that in the line up instead of seeing what someone w/ Jones talent will give you is silly IMO.
