That's exctly it. Ron Washington is even contemplating playing Nelson cruz in CF and moving Hamilton to RF in order to save his legs. Talk about sacrifice

Why do you assume Hamilton would be better in CF than Andruw Jones? Even though his ability at the plate has death-spiraled, he hasn't forgotten how to run routes, etc. It wasn't his speed that made him one of the best defensive OFs in MLB history. Well, okay, it was kinda his speed. But it was more his ability to position himself, read the ball off the bat, never break the wrong way, etc. I don't think that's gone.

He got lazy and his baseball IQ wasn't good enough to adapt when his athletic ability started to dwindle. FACT

QFT.
CF is the easiest position to read the ball at anyway, so a move to LF or RF would end up hurting him.

Maybe but his risk of injury would decrease though he'd probably get fatter not running balls down. Ideally, Hamilton is in fact the perfect RF, good speed and the arm the gun guys at 3B and Home. Jones would be the best CF imo and Cruz at LF would be the best OF they could field. The Rangers just need to get rid of some of these quality hitters and get some needed pitching.
