Derek Jeter to third?

My buddy up in NY says there is a hot rumor going around the office that Jeter is going to third?

The Yankess wouldn't ask him to move when A-Rod showed up so why would they ask him to move now?

hmm i'm up in nyc and i havent heard that rumor... jeter is god here i doubt they'd do anything out of the ordinary with him... but maybe i've just been oblivious to the rumors the last few days cuz i hate the yankees so much haha... but i'd be very very suprised if they did that

I called him back and he said it was Tex or Jeter to third.

I would be very surprised if the Yanks did this.... Tex has not played 3rd since college and Jeter he pulls alot of weight up there to get what many might see as a demotion.


I hope they dont do this.. I dont like either scenero.

Jeter seems like the kind of 'team' player that would refuse a move to benefit the team. It's all about him.

However I don't think there is any reason to shuffle Tex or Jeter around if indeed Arod is coming back in May. And if Arod ends up out for the season then I think they will look outside the org since it's not like they are replacing Jeter (if moved to 3rd) with a good player at SS. And I don't like moving a 180M 29 yr old to a position that he hasn't played since college (or did he play it in the minors).

Nope... not gonna happen.

Most likely it'll be ransom who mans the hot corner, but giving Nady a shot would solve the problem of finding enough at-bats for he and swisher.

Makes no sense. Move him to 3B, then you have a gap at SS.

There is zero chance of this happening.

Not even worth going down the reasons why it's foolish to think Jeter would move to 3B.

If anyone internal takes over 3B, it would be Cano.
