Drop E.Dukes or others for Alex Gordon? I have Arod.

Postby kage812004 » Sun Mar 08, 2009 7:37 pm

I have Arod and as we all heard today he is going to miss some time. I have Zimmerman on my bench. Alex Gordon was dropped for some reason and is due to clear waivers tomorrow. Is Alex Gordon worth the #1 waiver claim or should i take my chances and see if he clears waivers tomorrow? Also are any of these players worth dropping for Gordon or should i just stick with Zimmerman at 3rd till Arod comes back??

Eliha Dukes
Nelson Cruz(i do like him this year)
John Maine
Jerod Weaver
Max Scherzer

First of all, Gordon isn't worth the #1 waiver pick. If he clears waivers, by all means pick him up. Second, I don't think I'd drop the arms, I like Dukes better than Cruz.

Please help?

I like John Maine the least out of the bunch. Gordon is not a guy to waste a claim on. Just wait for him to clear waivers and add him in for John Maine.

John Maine :-t , you already know this guy is not special, and Weaver is better. Dukes/Cruz/Scherzer - all have a chance to be special

None of these guys re worthy of a drop IMO. I like Zimmerman over Gordon anyway so I'd just stay with what you have.

here's what I'd do cut weaver or maine for gordon immediately. I think Gordon will be claimed by someone. You do have ZImm which is solid enough. You might could wait for Arod to be put on the DL, stash him and save yourself having to drop anyone, what other 3b are available?

I'd look into adding a Cantu, Blaylock, Mora, or something like that can give you some insurance and can get you by temporarily. Its a shame Glaus is missing time too he could help you as well.

Chipper strained an oblique, try offering one of your bench pitchers to him while he's down...he won't be hurt long and his owner might be starting to press the panic button too soon. Gotta strike while the iron is hot.

It might also help if we knew the rest of your roster and what else is available in case we see anything that might cover a need for ya.

As long as his shoulder is fine he is an All Star caliber pitcher.

Stand pat you should be fine with Zimmerman IF zimmerman gets hurt as well blalock or mora would be a fine emergency fill in..dont worry about rostering them though

sidenote: keep an eye on f. corderos issues though hes getting lit up and seems to have some injury thing going on
