How far should i move ARod down in my rankings?*********WHIR

Postby Tom Emanski AllStars » Sun Mar 08, 2009 7:23 pm

i'm in a 6x6 H2H redraft mixed 10-team league.
How far should i move ARod down in my predraft rankings after the injury/surgery news? (out 2-4 weeks of regular season, 6-9 weeks overall)
3B is a thin position so i don't know how far to bump him down, if any

My current top 13:
1) HanRam
2) ARod
3) A.Pujols
4) D.Wright
5) J.Reyes
6) M.Cabrera
7) G.Sizemore
8) R.Braun
9) R.Howard
10) M.Teixeira
11) J.Rollins
12) I.Kinsler
13) J.Hamilton

With an injury like that, I'm inclined to put him on the Do Not Draft list and let someone else worry about him.

but strictly as a back up and only if you have a dl slot

i do have a DL slot.

Yea, he's slated to undergo another surgery after the season, but do you really think missing 2-4 weeks of the beginning season drops him all the way down to the 5th or 6th round.
I tend to think if i can land him in the 2nd or 3rd thats a steal. Especially since 3b is so thin, and after all he is ARod.

he'll miss 2-4 weeks of the beginning of a H2H season, and the end of the season is what really matter in H2H.

I'll not touch him before the 3rd, and I don't think you'll get him that late.

I took him in an auction league today at $24 dollars (the top guys were going for $40ish). I might have overpaid a bit but I have Davis and Aramis as 3b depth so I'll be alright there. I think 3rd round could be worth the risk.

I would also be tempted to pay that much for him at my auction. It is a keeper league, where you keep them for the average between last years $ paid + current years Cbssportsline $ value.

Im in a very competitive 12 man CBS Sportsline H2H keeper league and I can tell you that someone will pickup ARod before the 3rd. Whether hes worth it in his current situation is up for debate. I personally think he still is. So if you really want ARod id pick him up early. If you dont someone else who wants him will.
