Ervin Santana To Miss Opening Day?

Wow. I thought I would have heard something by now but I haven't heard a thing. Any one else know more about this injury? I haven't even heard of a time table for his return yet.

Which is not a good sign for those of you who have him on your teams. I have him on one of my teams so I'm looking for news on him too.

Although Ervin Santana has a partially torn ligament within his right elbow, he could complete this season -- and his career -- without requiring reconstructive surgery.

Probably the best bet would be to try and trade him before this really hits the wire. He could go either way here but the best bet is to get out when he still has decent value.

I doubt he finishes the season. Even if he does, he won't be the same pitcher.

Sportsline just released some news on him and said that he has begun playing long toss..It also says nothing about a torn tendon in his elbow but that does not mean it not true..

dang it... drafted him in my keeper to be my 3rd starter behind Hamels and Lincecum... now he and Cole have arm issues. My team looks dead in the water and the season hasn't even begun

RHP Ervin Santana has begun the long-toss phase of his throwing program after being shut down because of a sprained ligament in his elbow. Santana probably will to miss at least the first month of the season while continuing his throwing program and then going on a minor-league injury-rehabilitation assignment. But Santana said he is "pretty confident now" that he won't require surgery to repair the ligament.
