Pierre's True Value

Postby d18Mike » Tue Mar 09, 2004 2:01 am

I expect Pierre's SB numbers to fall this year. The team -- and Juan's -- SB frequency tailed off significantly when McKeon took the helm. He is an old school manager who does not give the solid green like Torberg did.

I do think Pierre's SB will slip a little too...BUT STILL...I completely agree with the poster who says you should be able to do better than Edmunds. Those 65 bags give Pierre a "luster" in trade negotiations while Edmonds nice numbers are "tainted" by worry of when his next trip to the DL will inevitably happen. NO WAY you should settle for Edmunds, you should be able to get more just on percieved value.

Use the "luster" of pierre to get somebody better than Edmonds from somebody that is as not informed.

It sounds like touting a falling stock to be a blue-chip to the uninformed investor. Kinda dirty :-D

Wathc out! You could end up beside Martha in "Cell Block A" if you're not careful. But if you want another OF for Pierre, you can probably get better than Edmonds.

Not to mention Pierre is a 2nd or 3rd round pick, Edmonds couldn't have gone any earlier than the 6th or 7th. Why would you trade a 3rd round pick for a 7th round pick, when you could have just drafted differently to get Edmonds in the first place?
(taps little picture of a microphone)... is this thing on?
