Help with 5th keeper?

Postby dracovonborax » Sat Mar 07, 2009 4:33 pm

ok, my league is a 3 yr Keeper with $300 to spend at the draft. salary increases by $5 every year. my keepers as of now are:
player / money spent / year on contract
1. C, Davis $6 1st
2, J. Ellsbury $9 1st
3. P. Fielder $24 3rd (via trade)
4. A. Rios $16 3rd

for the 5th slot i have to choose between:
1. M Ramirez $28 1st
2. J. Bruce $9 1st
3. S. Victorino $7 1st
4. D. Price $6 1st

i know Manny is a steal at $28 but is that worth losing the rights to Bruce,Victorino, or Price? not to mention the money i'd save for the draft if i go with one of the other guys.
Perhaps i should change one of my other 4 listed keepers?
What do you all think.. thanks for any help you can offer.

you helped with mine so ill give you my .02 with the understanding ive never played in a league you have to pay for players.

Manny is the obvious choice. he's your best keeper for the next couple years. i can't see anyone else making an impact on your season like manny can.

another vote for bruce...it's a gamble, but his upside is nice and he won't cost you much.

I'd also go with Bruce, manny would be a stud addition to have on your team, but the comment you made about having more to go into the draft with I agre with... Bruce has a huge upside and won't cost you as much, you can then also try to snag manny if not somethin better in the draft with that extra money

Great thanks to soto for the sweet sig!...

I would probably have to go with either Bruce or Price myself, At the moment I'm leaning towards Price. I see great things coming for him in the somewhat near future. If you didn't already have Ellsbury and Rios as OF keepers I would pick Bruce, but since you do I'll go with Price.

That is who I would go with, gives you a solid OF and potential studs at CI and SP
