Astros and Diamondbacks Pitching Prospects?

Postby whatinthebluehell » Sat Mar 07, 2009 3:48 pm

Need some hardcore minor league fans to give me your advice.
Which pitching prospect do you see being a bigger name Ross Seaton or Jordan Lyles for the Astros? Wade Miley or Cesar Valdez for the Diamondbacks? All were rated high in BA org. rankings, but as we know the Astros and Diamondbacks minor league system is not that deep... Other info on these two guys?

Seaton and Lyles both seem to be fairly projectable nice H.S. arms out of the 4 you listed. Seaton has a good frame, command, and stuff. Low 90's FB, good slider, and a usable change up. I'd prolly prefer him to Lyles due to his maturity and more consistent pitches.

As far as the D'backs, I'd actually prefer a kid named Trevor Harden. Really nice low 90's FB with sink and a very nice slider to go with it. Has a strong frame and a clean delivery, not to mention great debut last year. A bit younger as he went to JC but he's a guy who I think could take off.
