No, I think you need more for Prince. Since you have a surplus, you can take a little bit less than true value, but I think Ervin is more than a little less. I think you realistically have to be looking at a top 5-8 pitcher in return.

Who are your top 8 pitchers, out of curiosity. Not sure how Ervin escapes that list.

Top 14 pitchers according to ESPN's projections for my points league on ESPN: Big Erv is #15.

Sabathia
Johan
Lincecum
Halladay
Webb
Liriano
Oswalt
Lee
Peavy
Lackey
Hamels
Haren
Shields
King Felix

CBS.com puts out the same guys in front of Erv, with a different scoring system for my league there (some of the rankings ahead of Big Erv are not the same order, but he is #15 on the list behind the same guys as on ESPN.

According to the cafe's positional tiers rankings, Erv is not a top 8 pitcher, and in the cafeholics mock draft, Erv was the 14th SP off the board.

As to the question raised about Fielder's consistency vs Erv's....

Fielder has been all-star quality for the past 3 seasons. Not so for Big Erv, who had a 7-14 record in '07 with a 5.76 ERA, and 1.55 WHIP.

Santana should be a nice pitcher, but SP's in general are really tough to project. Will he have a Johan-like run, or will he turn into Verlander?

Hitters are much safer because they tend to be way more consistent.

Both of these guys are young. Big Erv is coming off an incredible year, one that not many saw coming. Fielder is seen as having had a disappointing year last year, but he still was a top-30 type of player. Even at what could be his high-water mark, Big Erv is not a top-30 player.

Well here's my top 13 and Ervin isn't on it. I could probably add a few more before adding him too. Not sure how you can call him a top 8 SP.

Santana
Lincecum
Webb
Peavy
CC
Hamels
Haren
Oswalt
Billingsley
Beckett
Shields
Kazmir
Lackey

I don't see a j santana linceum trade for fielder.

I like e santana, i see him having another good year, however i still wouldn't trade fielder straight up. I would definitely have to be upgraded at another position in the deal.

fielder= 90% odds he produces the same as last season, look at the lineup hart, braun. hardy nice you ng bats!!
he should be 100 if it wasn't for being fat so personal health and o yeah being fat for increase in injury risk
e santana = 70% up coming lot of talent not a great era but i like him so i change it to a 80%
