My top 10 over-valued players

I believe that these players are over-valued this year and will in general be drafted higher than they should:

1) Bonds..............His numbers will drop
2) Sosa................Average & walks way down last year
3) Zito.................03 nubers down. No offense or closer in 04
4) Beckett............Will struggle this year
5) J.Lopez............Not a contract year. Back to .255-18-65
6) Glaus...............Will never be the stud he teased us to be
7) Edmunds..........Injuries will hold numbers down
8) Nixon...............Good but not great
9) Drew................Still teasing us. Braves fans drooling too much
10) Payton............Gone from Colorado. Will struggle no matter what his numbers say.

I believe with all but Beckett. I think that he will post Prior-like numbers this year.

He is over his blister problems and was a stud over the last half of the season and obviously in the playoffs.

Also, remember last year? Last year when Prior was being drafted as early as rounds 3 and 4 and people were saying that he was overrated. Beckett will be a steal being picked in the mid-50s early 60s depending on league type.

I think Zito will be undervalued this year, because of his 03 numbers. He has the potential for a sub 3.00 era.

I agree with everyone on that list except for Beckett, Payton, and Zito.

i really dont see why everyone is soo high on beckett. If playoff preformance leads to great regular season play then orlando hernandez would be a top pick. Its just my opinion but i will not be a beckett believe until he shows me that he can actually play a full season without some kind of relapse or breakdown. I do like payton for this year though

I don't agree with Beckett, Sosa, and Drew.

Beckett is being drafted in the 6th 7th rounds in drafts I've being in. Thats pretty good value I'd say. He proved last year (not only in the playoffs) that he can pitch and be a 4 cat. pitcher. Look at his season numbers. Off hand I believe he had close to a K and inning with an ERA around 3. Not bad for a 6th rounder.

Sosa has been going in the 3rd and 4th rounds. I think he'll be back to his 50 homers 135 RBIs this year. He was injured last year and got off to a horrible start. He tore it up second half.

Drew, well I don't expect him to have a great year, but since he gets drafted in the last round or 2 and has the potential of a 5 cat player I don't think he's a bad pick. Now taking him in the top 10 rounds. Yeah sure he'll be a poor pick but thats not where he's going.

I got Drew in the 17th round he was my 5th OFer. I would love for him to be a big payoff this year. I feel that you win leagues based on your round 12-20 picks....

If anything Beckett is underrated........he was dominant in the 2nd half and is just starting to put his magical tools together.....today i believe he pitched 4 innings of 1-hit ball. 5-6th round is an absolute steal!!

How is Trot Nixon over-rated? He's usually under-rated. Ichiro is much more over-rated than Trot.
