Jose Cruz JR has to be the stereotype for this.

I wouldn't say they're failed prospects as they've had decent careers are still reasonably young at 30 and 29 though they for sure have not been as good as advertised. I would have said Marlon Byrd until last year as well and Josh Hamilton until 2 years ago.
I wouldn't call their careers decent at all.

Kubel never had the speed tool pretty much only the hit tools. And he tore every ligament in his knee (at least most of them) which is why it took him a bit longer to come back.

Cruz Jr certainly didn't live up to his high expectations. After looking at this stats, he was actually better than I had remembered. He had 2 seasons with 30+ homeruns with the Jays, which I completely forgot about. 200+ career homeruns is nothing to sneeze at.

I would as Kearns has started for 7 years while averaging around 14 hrs a year and Patterson has played 9 years averaging around 11 hrs and 20 SBs (1 24HR 32SB year). Not the superstar numbers and both could still produce but there but that is decent as both have fought off injuries as well.
