But years from now you may want longoria? Sort of a cryptic answer. Personally, I'm happy people over value longoria. lets me snatch up Wright in the later first round.
Wright is better today so you want him. No one has a crystal ball so trying to predict who will be better 3 years from now is a fruitless exercise. Plus Wright has a higher ceiling IMO.
"Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that." ~George Carlin
I think Lonogoria has the potential, but he hasn't done anything to justify saying he is better than or will be better than Wright so it's Wright easily
The NL is easier? I understand the argument for pitchers but how does that play into hitting?
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
Wright is already a perennial top 4 player and will be for a long time. He hasn't hit under .302 in his MLB career, and I don't think Longoria will hit for AVG at Wright's level for a while. Longoria's BB/K rates need improvement before being considered a megastar like Wright.
Rocinante2: you know Rocinante2: its easy to dismiss the orioles as a bad team ofanrex: go on Rocinante2: i'm done Rocinante2: lmao
Wright is still the superior choice over Longoria. His plate discipline is better than Longoria and has consistently posted elite numbers. Longoria will be very good, but I'd like to see if he can maintain those high FB and HR/FB rates like he did last year.
