I was just thinking. There is a ton of hype surrounding longoria, and he is incredibly talented, but, is he really more talented that Wright. I have a dynasty draft coming up soon, and I know people who would rather reach for longoria than Wright.
Some points of note.
[*]Wright has increased his stats every year without fail, and doesn't seem to have hit his ceiling yet. [*]longoria's K rate is higher and walks lower in his rookie year than Wright's was at the same age. [*] At age 22, Wrights had superior peripherals to longoria in nearly every category [*]Wright has significantly more speed [*]Wright plays in the easier National league [*] Although disputable, the Mets line up offers much more protection than the Rays IMO [*] Wright is only 3 years older than longoria
Maybe it was just this small group of misled people that wanted to reach for longoria and the concensus is Wright's the right choice over the course of a Dynasty league, but what do you guys think? longoria or Wright, who would you build a franchise around?
But years from now you may want longoria? Sort of a cryptic answer. Personally, I'm happy people over value longoria. lets me snatch up Wright in the later first round.
