Is he going to walk to first every time he hits the ball? NO. Stealing is no different and if it helps his team win, I see no reason for his steals to really decline all that much. If he is healthy enough to play, he is healthy enough to steal.

Healthy enough to play does not equal healthy enough to steal bases.

Come on. You know that.

I think for the first time ever I have to agree with Curtis.
Stealing a base is going to become an unnecessary risk.

If that's the first time ever, then you must really simpleminded.

Healthy enough to play does not equal 100% healthy and it does not equal playing everyday.

I would think you need to discount his value by at least 10-15% Unstable lower body means a lot less power and speed. I would think that SB is where you will see the biggest drop.

I think you are looking at an Aramis Ramirez type production in the end.

Too many dramatic variables to be honest, but if pushed I'd go with the above. :-o

FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal writes that the Yankees "will not pay a high price in players or dollars for a 4-to-6-week" replacement for Alex Rodriguez.
If all goes well in rehab, A-Rod should miss no more than 23 games. Rosenthal believes the Yanks are looking to improve over Cody Ransom, but aren't willing to give up much.

Now it says no more than 23 games missed. That's not too bad at all if true.

"Yankees announce that A-rod may be out for up to 10 weeks and are desperate to get a replacement. They again wanted to remind potential trade partners that they are 'absolutely terrifyingly desperate to get a replacement for Arod"

OOOOOOR. They could say, "yeah, um A-rod's fine and he'll be back like super quick so sure, we'll take your 3B if you want to give him away. But remember, we don't really need him. We love Cody Ransom and Arod will only miss like 3 weeks of the season."

I thought the initial thought was that he'd miss between 2-5 weeks of regular season (6-9 weeks from surgery) ??

Is there now talk of a longer lay off?

That means 'back playing' not 'back and playing at usual level every day'
