Short term-Drew, safer pick-Drew, more upside/bigger chance to be a real star-Gordon

Safer pick Drew? You do realize that he is going about 7 rounds ahead of Gordon?

I didn't mean value-wise. I just meant if for some reason you had your utility spot open and they both were available in FA/WW. Who would you grab to play it safe?

How realistic is your scenario though?

I guess most people consider Drew to be a safe pick because he has done it for a year but I just don't see him as a sure thing.

I don't see him as a sure thing, but more of a sure thing than Gordon IMO

Lots of good opinions in here. The replies are right along the lines of my thinking. In other words I can't decide. :-D

I must point out that I'm a Royals fan so with our string of bad luck over the past two decades it makes me think the worst for Gordon.

I conquer too O:-)

I draft Drew first all things equal, but Gordon still has plenty of time.

For comparison's sake, last season people were thinking Drew was never going to break out after two lackluster years of playing in the show and not lighting the world afire...this time could be Gordon's turn and he is the same age this season with the same relative experience Drew had last season.

Gordon for upside, although the times I have seen him play his swing looks longer than Titanic.

For my money a breakout by Drew sees him worth about the same as what he earned last year. Just too much luck in his numbers. He is a player that I am avoiding because I can draft guys like Hardy or Peralta a number of rounds later and they have good chances to earn just as much.
