Which 2 pitchers for B. Webb?

Postby Hawkeye1 » Wed Mar 04, 2009 8:04 pm

This is a roto keeper league, standard scoring. Our keepers (7 per season) count as the round they were originally drafted in. Which of these pitchers would you absolutely NOT trade in a 2 for 1 deal to acquire Webb (4th round)?
Oswalt (2nd round)
C. Billingsley (10th round)
R. Nolasco (10th round)
A. J. Burnett (11th round)
J. Lester (22nd round)
Cliff Lee (29th)

I like NAtional League pitchers so I would keep Oswalt and Nolasco.

Based on value Lester and Lee are by far the 2 that I would not trade.

Crap. I lost my reply.

Billingsley is the best on the list. Nolasco might very well be #2.

For a second rounder, I pack Oswalt's bags for him.

Lee is a wild card at that round value, but I don't see him ever approaching 2008 again. Lester's the tough one here. He's potentially bumping Nolasco, esp. with his round being much, much lower.

Billingsley and Lester. Oswalt is worthless when kept as a second round pick, horribly overvalued. I don't think any pair of the other guys would land Webb though. Cliff Lee being basically free might get it done when a 4th rounder for Webb is normal value.

Gotta go Bills/Lester although I'd prefer Webb over any of them.

I'd move Oswalt & Lee for Webb. Oswalt in the 2nd isn't a keeper, so that would really make the trade Webb 4th for Lee 29th.
