Brian Roberts vs Alexei

Who do you guys like better, the reliable avg, runs, and sb's of Roberts or the big upside power with Alexei? I'll be in a position to draft either one and I need to figure out which one I want. I already have Hanley at SS so playing Alexei there is not an option.

I like Roberts. More of a sure thing at this point. It wouldn't shock me to see Alexei slump a bit this year...

yea i like b-robs more but he did sign a fat contract so maybe he'll slack a bit?

with alexei, he'll need to adjust as pitchers will make adjustments to him.

I like Roberts. He is consistent and far and away the best basestealer at 2B. You have to invest an early pick to get either, and early in the draft you want safe reliable production.

That's a terrible reason for choosing Alexei. I could understand if you had them neck and neck, and age was your deciding factor. But right now, B-Rob > Alexei.

Do you REALLY believe this? Alexei could be 38 for all we know.

Between the two I like Roberts. However, I think Alexei can slide in some drafts far enough to be a good value, esp with 2B/SS/OF position elig. I also like the HR/SB combo guys that can hit for at least decent average. Of course he might also slump and be an albatross for your team all year.

Yup, Alexi could have better year but your gambling if you like him more at this point....there isn't really much to NOT like with Roberts.
