I would do this deal. Wainwright has a ton of upside if he stays healthy and Mike Gonzalez is horribly underrated. BJ Ryan went down with an injury last year and hasnt looked good thus far in ST.

I take the deal.

15-17 wins, low WHIP, mid-3 ERA, 150 K's for Wainwright.

And with holds counting, Gonzalez helps no matter what. I think he holds the closer job all year, gets 30ish saves, and good ratios. If he somehow loses the job to Soriano, he's still the 8th inning guy, so you'll get the same good ratios and a high number of holds.

I would probably do the trade with Gonzalez but would definitely see if I could get Ryan instead just to add value. Ii you can't get the guy to bite on Ryan still make the trade. Wainwright definitely a breakout candidate this year and has huge potential.

so, two of you say to go with Gonzalez and two of you say to ask for Ryan. I need a couple more opinions before making the move. Leave your links

i like gonzo, but cox could easily replace him, whereas ryan has a much longer track record of success. if i'm downgrading at pitcher i want the better closer.

I'd do the deal. The drop off from Lackey to Wainwright is worth a Gonzo.

So, if I do this deal I need to drop a player from my roster. Who should I drop? Soriano? Stewart?

I would definitely do the deal...Wainwright is almost Lackey already imo and Gonzalez is underated. I wouldnt drop Stewart or Soriano (I like him as a backup in case Gonzalez reinjures himself). I like Bucholz but I would consider dropping him instead...or Maholm if you feel you can pick up a comparable waiver starter

Opinions on mine? Thanks
