Sounds like Freese is going to have a hard time winning the 3B job over Mather.
Any chance wallace gets the job? He's hitless in only 5 ABs this spring but they might wanna give him time, imo.

I doubt it. They have other usable options and I think they want him to be able to be able to concentrate on his defense (not while at the MLB level). Long-term it's better that he improves his defense so he can stick at 3B.

Yeah, I can't see kemp batting outside of 3rd. Batting 5th they take less advantage of his athletic skills.
How so? Seems like he can run more hitting 5th. I don't think he should be running around right in front of Manny.
I must agree with Yoda here.
Hmm. Second time this year. Somethings wrong with me.

Dodgers
1 Furcal

3 Ethier
4 Manny
5 Loney
6 Martin
7 Blake
8 Hudson
During the Manny press conference, Joe Torre just said w/o hesitation Furcal will leadoff with Hudson 2nd and then manny will be 3rd or 4th.
Strange.
Anyway, my lineup would be:
1 Furcal
2 Martin
3 Ethier
4 Manny
5 Kemp
6 Loney
7 Blake
8 Hudson

IF Milton is healthy I could see Lou batting him #3 and Lee #5. Cubs management made a big deal after the second year of 3 and out in the playoffs of needing to get more left handed in their lineup. It would seem if that was truely the case they would want to put a lefty near the top.
Now this is far fetched as Lou doesn't seem interested in moving Soriano out of #1 but he did say he would consider it.
Theriot
Bradley
Soriano
Ramirez
Lee
Soto
Fukudome/Johnson
Miles
I'd like to see Bradley hit 4th to split up D.Lee - A-Ram.
1 Alfonso Soriano (R)
2 Ryan Theriot (L)
3 Derrek Lee (R)
4 Milton Bradley (S)
5 Aramis Ramirez (R)
6 Geovany Soto (R)
7 Mike Fontenot (R)
8 Kosuke Fukudome (L)/ Reed Johnson (R)

Read this today on MLB.COM by Cory Gottlieb concerning Orlando Hudson batting 2nd for the Dodgers...
How many two-hitters can say they're protected by Matt Kemp and Manny Ramirez?
This leads me to believe that he thinks Kemps bats 3rd and Manny bats 4th as I believe would be best.

I like the lineup you show here for the A's, and I have updated it on the 1st page. I still think a main question is whether they platoon the dh position cust/barton, and carter would be in the mix also, except carter probably won't be up until sometime later in the season according to cbs. thanks for helping out.
