Manny batting third and Furcal leading off really are the only "sure things" with the Dodgers lineup.
Hmm...maybe the Dodgers try and repeat Red Sox magic with Kemp batting 3rd and Manny hitting 4th. Did wonders for David Ortiz as that's some protection.

It will either be Reyes Beltran Wright Delgado Murphy/Church
Cubs 1 Alfonso Soriano 2 Ryan Theriot 3 Derrek Lee 4 Aramis Ramirez 5 Milton Bradley 6 Geovany Soto 7 Kosuke Fukudome 8 Aaron Miles
IF Milton is healthy I could see Lou batting him #3 and Lee #5. Cubs management made a big deal after the second year of 3 and out in the playoffs of needing to get more left handed in their lineup. It would seem if that was truely the case they would want to put a lefty near the top.
Now this is far fetched as Lou doesn't seem interested in moving Soriano out of #1 but he did say he would consider it. Theriot Bradley Soriano Ramirez Lee Soto Fukudome/Johnson Miles
During the Manny press conference, Joe Torre just said w/o hesitation Furcal will leadoff with Hudson 2nd and then manny will be 3rd or 4th (I think 4th). Take it for whatever it is worth. But this is a deep lineup with an excellent subs in Pierre (he's a great 4th OF'er) and Dewitt.

wow if he actually bats hudson 2nd does that mean martin hits 7th?
I don't expect it to be final, especially in light of Torre shuffling the lineup some last year, but at any rate, it sounds like Torre is intent on batting Hudson 2nd at least for now:
Assuming everyone is healthy, Torre said he would bat speedy switch-hitters Rafael Furcal and Orlando Hudson first and second. At 3-4-5-6 he listed Ramirez, James Loney, Andre Ethier and Russell Martin. He gave no specific order other than Ramirez at either three or four, but last year he most often had Loney batting fourth behind Ramirez and it turned out pretty well.
The best guess would be Ramirez third, Loney fourth, Ethier fifth and Martin sixth. Or Ramirez fourth, sandwiched between Ethier and Loney. Either way, Matt Kemp would be seventh and Casey Blake, who hit 21 home runs between Cleveland and Los Angeles, would be eighth.

This is the lineup I'd use...
1 Rafael Furcal (S) 2 Andre Ethier (L) 3 Matt Kemp (R) 4 Manny Ramirez (R) 5 James Loney (L) 6 Russell Martin (R) 7 Casey Blake (R) 8 Orlando Hudson (S)

I agree totally with havok here, but I was a kemp owner last year, and torre changed the lineup so many times last season it would make your head spin. I can't help but think kemp's value does not look like a 3-4 rounder if torre plays the same game. I also don't see a solid lineup in LA until at least until mid-may.
