Drafting Position Eligibility

Postby Chicago RedSox » Tue Mar 03, 2009 4:35 pm

I love to have guys on my team with position flexibility. Especially for those Wed/Thurs when only half of my roster is active. I'll usually bump these guys up a spot or two in the draft so I can get in a few more at bats then my opponent. It also helps with maximizing match-ups, or keeping hot bats in the lineup. I put together a list of players with multi-position eligibility to share. Let me know if you know of other to add.

Miguel Cabrera (Det - 1B,3B)
Kevin Youkilis (Bos - 1B,3B)
Russell Martin (LAD - C,3B)
Alexei Ramírez (CWS - 2B,SS,OF)
Víctor Martínez (Cle - C,1B)
Garrett Atkins (Col - 1B,3B)
Adam Dunn (Was - 1B,OF)
Aubrey Huff (Bal - 1B,3B)
Chone Figgins (LAA - 2B,3B)
Joba Chamberlain (NYY - SP,RP)
Mike Aviles (KC - 2B,SS)
Jorge Cantú (Fla - 1B,3B)
Mark DeRosa (Cle - 2B,3B,OF)
Carlos Guillén (Det - 1B,3B)
Hank Blalock (Tex - 1B,3B)
Felipe López (Ari - 2B,3B,SS,OF)
Anthony Reyes (Cle - SP,RP)
Jed Lowrie (Bos - 3B,SS)
Jose Lopez (Sea - 1B/2B)
Conor Jackson (Ari - 1B/OF)

I was thinking of guys that might gain multi-position eligibility this year, and Michael Young (Tex - SS/3B) came to mind. I can't think of any others at the moment.

Skip Schumaker will likely get 2B eligibility.
