I'm in the midst of a first year player draft/Free agent major league player draft. I am in a Dynasty League where we kept rosters at 25 men so basically the we are picking from a limited group of major leaguers. The best pitcher out there is Mike Gonzalez, Brandon Lyon, Kenshin Kawakami, Wandy Rodriguez/types. We also keep 12 minor leaguers so not many top talent is available from last year. It is my pick now here is how the first 6 picks went:
1. Smoak 2. Alvarez 3. Matusz 4. Jose Lopez 5. Gordon Beckham 6. Michael Inoa 7. MY PICK
My relievers are slack with Huston Street, George Sherill, and Tony Pena so I am leaning toward Mike Gonzalez. My favorite Minor leauger is Aaron Hicks. I think he is special. Also I am well aware that Buster Posey is the best player available, and I am not supposed to worry about positions in the minors, but I have McCann on my majors and Jesus Montero in my minors. I just don't want another catcher.
Finally I have been offered this trade: Johnathon Sanchez and Manny Corpas (I have Street remember) for Billy Butler and my 7th pick,
Just let me know what you would do in my shoes QUICK!
I think I look at Posey or Alonso. I dislike closers in dynasties because one minute they are closing the next minute they aren't. I would go with the high upside player that will be helping your team for 10 years. I know you already have McCann but I think Posey is the BPA and when you're dealing with prospects you can always trade them for what you need. Alonso is pretty close so if you needed a 1B/UTIL that would also make sense. You could also go with Hicks or Hosmer, but they are probably looking at 3+ yrs before reaching the majors and then a couple more yrs until they become good.

I always tend to chase saves, so I go Posey there.

Yoder Alonso or Brett Wallace, no question for me. I could see Posey or Gonzo, but I'm not the fan of chasing saves or catchers. Grab a young power bat while you can.
