Thoughts on Magglio Ordonez

Postby Barnes » Tue Mar 03, 2009 2:22 pm

I am in a 12 team h2h 5x5 keeper league. We could keep 5 keepers, i have Utley, Hamilton, Prince Fielder, Oswalt or Liriano ( i have to drop one), and Sabathia.

I had Ordonez on my team by decided not to keep him, i know he is old but i believe he may have a couple more years left in him. I was thinking about drafting him. Same with Delgado, he is old but will have a productive season i beleibe, thoughts?

Both guys are at the point where they will still put up decent numbers IF they can stay healthy. But my guess is that with 60 players off the board due to keepers, there will be better options to choose from in the first couple rounds of the draft.

I am probably higher on Ordonez than I am on Delgado. I have been seeing Ordonez as a mid round bargain in some drafts. I think its reasonable to think Ordonez could put up a line of .310 20 115. So I use that line when thinking about whether to draft him or not. The Tigers were such a mess last year, that its easy to forget what a good offense they were projected to have.
