Webb for E. Santana?

Postby ajlaz » Tue Mar 03, 2009 11:28 am

I'm being offered Ervin Santana ($2) for Webb ($23). It's a 12 team H2H league, with 2 year contract salaries (Draft day price is the salary price for 2 years, player can be extended for a 3rd year for an additional $10).

I know I'm giving up potential W's in Webb but I never trust a pitchers projected Win total since they really don't have complete control over it (bullpen, run support, etc).

I'd appreciate any feedback, WHIR.

I would make the trade. You are giving up 6-7 SP slots but Santana is still a fantasy ace and you are gaining $21 ;-D

After reading the thread title I said 'no friggin way'...but with money involved I'd make that deal in a second. I love Webb and he's as consistent as they come, but in an auction league it's all about value--at $23 Webb is probably undervalued by about $5...but at $2 Santana is undervalued by a good $15.

Any help here?

Another vote for "straight up no way, but the money involved makes it a no-brainer the other way". Webb > Ervin, but not $21 better, so take Ervin at $2 (I'm assuming that this is being done pre-draft).

I am with everyone else. Santana is just at too good of a price there. Do it!
